This WebM converter lets you convert your video to the WebM format. The WebM format and the underlying VP8 codec have been developed to become the new video standard. With the help of HTML5 there is no need anymore to install extra codecs to see a WebM video. To convert a file to WebM, you can either upload a video file or provide a link to a video. To start the VP8 converter, click on “Convert file”.
The VP8 codec and the WebM container have been released recently by Google and are currently under heavy development. VP8 is supposed to be patent free and currently included in various browsers and players. More information can be found at the official WebM webpage.
